I seem to recall my parents using those phrases a lot when I was a child. I don’t think my perspective on those matters is really objective with respect to “blowhard” v. “not blowhard”.

Parents and judges handing down sentences, those are about the only people who can use the phrase “actions have consequences” and not be a blowhard.
